    Hi Karin,

I really like your show (thanks!). But I have a bit of a problem. I *never ever* get the show in one piece. Today’s show popped up in my iTunes as a 3:50 show. So I always have to download it manually, which usually takes multiple tries, sometimes up to ten! Yes, I like the show that much. But I know nicer ways to spend the time and bandwith…

Have you heard this before? Anything I can do about it?

Some extra info: iTunes and various browsers report an obviously incomplete download as complete (The most recent iTunes will retry a broken download. If it notices the failure). That migth be a clue. Other subscriptions (I have over 60) seldom fail.

    Martin,
Thank you for your comment. I’ve had a couple of other complaints about incomplete downloads. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to fix it. It might be that the server I use can’t handle a lot of downloads at the same time. It seems to happen mostly to people who are always online and use an aggregator that checks the podcast-feeds very often. So they’re the first to download a new episode all at the same time.
Sorry, that I can’t be more helpful. I hope you’ll keep listening to ktsp though!

    Hi Karin -

Much like Martin, I’m having trouble getting the podcasts in one piece, and usually have to download them manually.

I was wondering if you could, in the file feed’s name or in the description, put the expected time of the podcast. That way, if something didn’t download correctly, I at least know what to expect as far as a download.

    Just a suggestion.

Many Thanks - love the show.

I’ve been thinking about this problem and may have found a solution. Could it be that you’re downloading the show while I’m still uploading it?
Next time I will upload the file into another directory first and then move it to the rss-directory. I’ll also put the length of the show in the file description next time.
Hope that will work. Please let me know, ok?
    Karin.

    Karin,

http://www.macfixit.com has an ongoing investigation into the incomplete iTunes downloads. The problem seems to be related to the iTunes’ distribution of some podcasts. Those that want to bypass this problem may try subscribing directly to KTSP’s feed, rather than subscribing through the Music Store.

Karin, have you considered making an enhanced feed for your show. It would be handy to be able to jump back to the beginning of a song to listen again.

Thanks for the beautiful music. I’m buying some of these songs now.

    ~Ted

    Ted,
Thanks for the info about the incomplete downloads.
I’ll certainly look into the enhancement possibilities, but please be patient!
